Job title: QA Technologist
Reports to: QA Manager
Job grade: C
Job Purpose
The successful candidate will:
• Maintain the supplier and product risk assessment matrix and review programme for existing and new suppliers and materials
• Assess the supplier food safety and quality management systems to ensure compliance to LH requirements
• Assess supplier corporate social responsibility
• Assess raw materials, packaging items and processing aids
• Support the purchasing department with supplier performance management programmes
• Carry out internal Quality Management System (QMS) audits and validation/verification exercises to the required timings
• Review and update relevant QMS procedures and policies
• Support with customer and third party audits
• Ensure the development and maintenance of the Lionel Hitchen food safety culture
• Support in the development and improvement of food safety systems through HACCP/TACCP and work instructions
• Advise on responses to customer queries/questionnaires on LH food safety and compliance systems
• Carry out investigations and report on customer complaints and internal non-conformances
• Support the purchasing department with development and implementation of the LH Supplier Sustainable Supply chain programme
Essential criteria for this position are:
• Experience in the food industry, ideally in a quality function
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel) and Adobe
• Good organisational skills & attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and maintain accurate records
