As a family business, the safety and welfare of our employees, customers, business partners and local communities is of paramount importance to us. During these difficult times we wish to reassure you that we have reviewed our processes, operations and business continuity plans in order to continue supplying our customers, whilst safeguarding our employees.

We continue to review plans on a daily basis, in-line with government recommendations regarding COVID-19. We have adopted a policy of remote working, wherever possible. For our Manufacturing Critical teams, who are unable to work remotely, we have taken a number of actions to ensure social distancing and to limit potential exposure. As a World Class Manufacturer, we continue to enforce the strictest of hygiene standards across all of our sites and these have been modified appropriately. We have also ceased all unnecessary travel and non-critical visitors to our sites.

Production and Supply

As a food and beverage ingredient manufacturer our services are classified as essential, under the UK Government issued list of necessary businesses, forming part of the supply chain for food production.

Lionel Hitchen is keeping under review the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak on the supply chain of raw materials. Our logistics team is continually working with freight carriers to deliver ingredients to the food and other necessary goods sectors. We have increased stock levels of raw materials supplied from many of those regions worst affected, in order to mitigate the risk of future shortages of supply.

We are currently working with our customers and suppliers globally to quantify what further impact there will be due to the worsening situation. Our pre-Brexit preparations, with respect to stock of raw materials from Europe, have given us a strong platform for tackling this ongoing challenge. Additionally, we are increasing our stock of standard finished products and would be happy to discuss any increased stock requirements you may have due to the crisis, so we can plan these in the most efficient manner.

We will continue to process and dispatch samples as necessary for essential manufacturing requirements, however delivery of these may be impacted by postal, courier and freight delays.

Future Updates

We continue to closely monitor the situation globally and will provide further updates as information becomes available. In the meantime, you can continue to contact us through your usual channels.

Stay safe and Naturally Fabulous.
